Self Catering Holiday Cottages and Bed & Breakfast

Brian and Amanda Burden thank you for your interest in the holiday cottages/Bed and Breakfast facilities at Bickleigh Farm, and hope this website gives you a taste of what we have to offer. Our aim is for you to have both a comfortable and an enjoyable stay with us.

   We are in a peaceful and secluded setting a mile from Halwell and 1½ from Harbertonford (PO/shop,pub). We offer both self-catering accommodation in our  two cosy cottages and two superb barn conversions together with Bed & Breakfast in our Georgian farmhouse. All visitors can use the indoor heated swimming pool (12m  x 6m , 1-1.4m deep, available 8am to 8pm) and well-equipped children’s play area with swings, slides, climbing frame, sandpit and large netted trampoline.   

Bickleigh Farm is a 3^rd generation family farm of 300 acres with a further land rented. The farm is a traditional Devon mixed farm and is home to 85 South Devon/Simmental suckler cows and 500 breeding ewes which graze the pastures, together with some arable crops. The farm is in the Countryside Stewardship Scheme which seeks to protect and enhance the traditional features on the farm. You are welcome to walk the farm and enjoy some of the magnificent views to the sea at Torquay and over Dartmoor. A green lane bisects the farm and is a good place to walk as it is relatively well surfaced. 

Bickleigh Farm is situated equidistance between the attractive South Hams towns of Totnes, Dartmouth and Kingsbridge (all 6 miles). It is only a 10 minute drive to the nearest beach and 20 minutes to Dartmoor. Bickleigh Farm is therefore situated in an ideal location to explore the many sights that South Devon has to offer.

Totnes - Mediaeval market town on the banks of the River Dart. Good selection of alternative shops, cafes and restaurants. Market Day on Friday (jewellery, antiques, fruit & veg, bric-a-brac).

Kingsbridge - Estuary town close to Salcombe and numerous sandy beaches. Thriving market town with many traditional shops. Market Day on Tuesdays.

Dartmouth - Attractive home of the Britannia Royal Naval College on the edge of the River Dart. Small town with individual shops with boating/sailing emphasis and a number of good restaurants. Pannier Market on Tuesdays
